Tag-line Stop dreaming. Start living.

"A moment comes when you stop dreaming and create your own destiny. For Walter Mitty, a daydreamer who escapes his anonymous existence by disappearing into a world of fantasies, that moment is now. When his job, along with that of his co-worker (Kristen Wiig), is threatened, Walter takes action in the real world, embarking on a journey more incredible than anything he could have imagined."

So, how does it end?

Walter gets proactive to find negative #25. He takes a flight to Greenland, to find out that he missed Sean who is now on a boat.

So he hitches a ride from a drunk helicopter pilot to fly over the ocean to find the ship, and jumps into the water. He narrowly avoids being eaten by a shark before the Captain rescues him, only to be told that Sean is now in Iceland. He starts to follow clues from Sean on the back of a cake wrapping.

The ship takes him to Iceland as it needs new radio parts. Walter beats the other workers to the only bike at the port and races off to the next town. He trades a toy for a skateboard, and keeps going further inland, following Sean's clues.

Until ... a hotel owner he met before picks him up, and rescues Walter from the path of an erupting volcano.

Walter manages to find a Papa Johns, before heading back to the US. He is then fired for not having the negative.  He stops by Cheryl's home to give the skateboard to her son, but her husband is there so, dejected, he leaves.

He calls round to see his mum, and finally realizes that the mystery #24 negative is of his mother's piano. She tells him that Sean stopped by, asking a lot of questions about him, and the final clue on the cake wrapper is about warlords. So Walter heads off to Afghanistan.

He hires some local help, then starts to climb the Himalayas to find Sean. Almost at the peak of a mountain, he is told to go on alone ... and finds Sean, about to take a picture of a snow leopard. We learn that #25 was in the wallet Sean left for him, and which for some weird reason Walter decided to bin.

Walter returns to the US, but is detained and needs to be helped by his new friend at e-Harmony. When he is back home, his mother gives him the wallet she found in the trash - and it still has the negative.

Walter goes to the Time magazine offices, and storms into a meeting of the Execs. He hands them the unopened negative, and asks the transition manager if he even knows the motto .. and that he should be nicer when firing people.

As he picks up his severance pay at a later date, he finds Cheryl - and learns that her husband isn't back after all. They stop by a magazine stall, and see the last Time magazine - dedicated to all the people who have made it happen, and the negative was a bad picture of Walter staring at negatives outside, which the execs for some reason chose to use. As they walk away, Walter (now better looking after all his adventures) holds Cheryl's hand.
